Over the past few weeks, district leaders have been in continuous contact with the Warren and Saratoga Co. Department of Health, the New York State Department of Health, and the New York State Education Department regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have made it our priority to diligently prepare for any and every outcome regarding the cancellation of events, school closings, and more. Our custodial staff has gone above and beyond to keep our school buildings and busses clean, and have worked to protect our students and staff from the spread of illness.

To be clear, at this time, the Hadley-Luzerne School District has NO confirmed cases, nor any individuals in our school community that would pose a direct threat of the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. However, in an abundance of caution, we have made several decisions to help minimize the spread of the virus in our community. In an effort to provide clear communication with parents and guardians of the district, we would like to discuss calendar updates for the upcoming weeks ahead.

  • Monday, March 16, 2020, will now be a PK-12 Superintendent Conference Day and school will be closed for ALL students. We apologize for the inconvenience but our district staff will need to use this day to discuss vital information regarding COVID-19 and possible school closure. This will give our staff adequate time to create communication patterns with students and parents for their classes. They will also be creating home coursework/activity lesson plans for students, should the event of an extended school closing occur. Additionally, this provides an opportunity for our custodial staff to perform a high intensity cleaning of our school buildings and busses.

  • Thursday, March 19, 2020, will be a regular school day. There will be NO 2-hour Delay.

  • Friday, March 20, 2020, will be a regular school day. There will be NO Superintendent Conference Day.
